State Chamber Supports Country week

Country Week, State Chamber of Commerce Media Release: 19 July 2005

STATE CHAMBER SUPPORTS
COUNTRY WEEK.

The State Chamber of Commerce (NSW) CEO, Margy Osmond, has urged businesses throughout Sydney to seriously look at what is on offer through Country Week.

Country Week, which is aimed at encouraging businesses, families and individuals in Sydney to consider a fresh new life in country areas of the State, will culminate with a major Expo at the Rosehill Gardens Event Centre on August 5, 6 and 7.

About 60 communities from country areas across the State will be showing what they have to offer to Sydney people considering moving out of the metropolitan areas.

Mrs. Osmond said Country Week is a great initiative deserving widespread support from all businesses, large and small.

"It gives city people a real insight into country life and provides the incentive for business to move to, or grow in, country New South Wales."

"All too often, city people think of our great rural regions in terms of bushfires, floods and drought, but there is obviously much more to living and working in country towns and cities."

"Country Week provides a showcase to many of the advantages in lifestyle, work environment and business opportunities in the bush", Mrs Osmond added.

As part of its support for Country Week, the State Chamber is sponsoring Business Friday.

Held in conjunction with the first day (Friday, August 5) of the Country Week Expo, Business Friday will provide targetted information to assist Sydney businesses to consider opportunities in regional New South Wales.

Business Friday will begin with a networking breakfast, followed by a series of seminars on different business topics.
