Announcing the initiative, Dilanchian's managing partner Noric Dilanchian said that he had long been concerned with the way in which law was effectively locked into a knowledge ghetto disadvantaging both lawyers and those outside law dealing with legal issues. "I have been especially concerned", Mr Dilanchian said, "with the continuing separation between legal knowledge and skills and those associated with management." "Lawyers suffer in the management of their own practices and in achieving effective understanding of client business needs". "Business suffers because legal advice is less targeted to their real needs, while legal costs are increased as a consequence of poor instructions." "One symptom of this continuing divide is the way in which issues that are really management or process issues become legal issues", Mr Dilanchian said. Sydneylaw.com.au aims to bridge the divide by combining legal and management professionals into a single faculty delivering integrated training. Welcoming the initiative, Ndarala CEO Jim Belshaw said that one of Ndarala's core objectives since its formation ten years earlier has been the creation of a truly multidisciplinary newtork of independent professional practices and professionals. "We believe", Mr Belshaw said, "that Sydneylaw.com.au will provide a new and effective vehicle for combining professionals inside and outside the Group from different disciplines to deliver truly integrated training to the benefit of both the legal profession and those dealing with the profession."
